The Posies live

If I had time to actually write some meaningful words on here I would...

Still trying to find some time to finish the 90's jams. Meanwhile, The Posies new stuff is sounding decently fresh, and they were smart enough to perform 2 out of the first 3 songs from Frosting On The Beater (which P.S. is one of the nicest and sickest album opening trilogies that's ever happened, and if y'all don't like it, y'all can bounce) And so I had to post these...

South Park "201"

It's looking like episode 201 might never become available for streaming at their website. While southparkstudios.com is still one of the best things on the internet, and South Park has now entered their newest season, many of us, the fans, had expected the issues to be resolved by now. Six months later, it seems like viewing this episode illegally might be the only way to watch it ever again.

So I decided to use this as a topic for a paper I'm writing for a class, and I found this to be a nice explanation of what went down beforehand...

Fuck It's Late

If it wasn't so late I'd look more into this now.. Earl Sweatshirt's album is kicking my ass, and I did some investigating and turns out he's part of the Odd Future clique.. most of this stuff sounds pretty sick. Their facebook page lists this as their interests:

Music. Skate. Art. Fuck Em. All. Ignorant Ass Teenagers. Fuck Keenan Thompson, Fuck The Jerk Movement. OFWGKTA

http://oddfuture.com/

Apparently they don't like Keenan or Steve Harvey.. which works out nicely since I agree. Fuck em.

Here's what MTV had to say about one of their forthcoming releases, Tyler's forthcoming Wolf LP:

"[He’s] the creator of LA's Odd Future collective who are quickly becoming the teenage skate punk equivalent to Wu Tang and Tyler is their RZA," said Andrew “Noz” Nosnitsky of cbrap.com. "His [beats] are built from sloppy and squashed Neptunes synths and his raps are like a half speed amalgamation of MF Doom, early Eminem and Lil B."

Half-speed is correct... These dudes rap slow, but in the best way possible.

Gin Blossoms "Dusted" (1989)

Wait a sec... Gin Blossoms had a first album?? Wait.. hold the phone.. Both "Hey Jealousy" and "Found Out About You" were originally from a 1989 album called Dusted? Since when??? Well... I suppose that's fun. It's always nice to hear familiar songs from a fresh perspective. These 2 versions sound way more like The Replacements than the (apparent) re-recordings found on New Miserable Experience, especially "Found Out About You," which up until now I always assumed was trying to combine R.E.M. with The Byrds. Turns out they were lovin' the Westerberg all along.

I trying to find time to finish the 90's Jams list. It's happening soon.
