Electrik Red "Drink In My Cup"

Here's one which narrowly missed the deadline for the best videos of 2009, and would have fit in nicely if only for a mid-video dance sequence on top of purposely filthy-looking toilets...

Polvo "In Prism"

I'm not very far into listening to it, but I'm pretty sure Polvo's In Prism was supposed to be included in our list of Some Record Albums From 2009 That Were Nice. I had no idea this existed at any point during 2009, but yeah.. it prolly shoulda been top 3. These things happen.

Yay Saturday Night

Awesome Saturday this week. I spent 3 hours alone in my room putting together a comprehensive Weezer/Rentals (only 90's) mix to put on my phone. It ended up coming to about 70 songs (without repeating anything, except if you count "Mrs Young" and "Please Let That Be You," which are both the same and different if you've heard them...)

This was the only song I really wanted on there that I couldn't find on mp3, and so I'm posting it here...

Edit: So even though nobody cares, I'm gonna post the playlist anyway.

We Are The Trainwreck

It's for a good cause. And that is literally the singular redeeming quality of "We Are The World 25."

Words cannot describe how sad this picture has made me... Seriously, Celine Dion is the best part of this song. I'm not kidding. This is the most depressing picture of "the biggest artists in pop" imaginable. It's over. Music jumped the shark today. Give up.

D’Angelo “1,000 Deaths”

The first new D'Angelo song in 10 years has finally seen the light of day... It's some of that serious cocaine funk.. even though D'Angelo apparently was way into beer, and not cocaine..

Feel this.

iamamiwhoami

This is the kind of shit we wait for... Mystery will pretty much always intrigue, and these clips are just too curious to ignore...

I like the way this was explained by Pitchfork, so I'm just gonna post their description, since I'm too lazy to try and word it myself... (And I'm kinda stuck for time cos I wanted to fit in a couple episodes of The Mighty Boosh before heading to bed... And by the way, every episode can be streamed right over here. Highly recommended.) So let's hear what Pitchfork's gotta say...

As of today, there are four videos up on the iamamiwhoami YouTube channel. (Watch them below). They feature synthy, atmospheric pop music, with breathy, effected, and unintelligible female vocals. They're also remarkably well produced, suggesting that whoever is behind this knows what they're doing and has a little money to work with.

Most of them star an unidentified blonde woman covered in ashy muck traipsing around the woods (she licks a tree in one of them), and there's plenty of birthing imagery. Each one corresponds to a different animal: whale, bee, owl, goat. There are weird numbers involved, as well as tags like "wood" and "disciple" and "orifice" that probably add up to something or other.

Curious followers have come up with a list of artists possibly responsible for the vids, including Christina Aguilera (whose camp has denied it), Trent Reznor, Lady Gaga, Björk, MGMT, the Knife, Aphex Twin, and Lykke Li. Given the experimental nature of the music and images, we'd say the Knife are the best aesthetic match, though that's just a hunch. But, considering these videos apparently depict some sort of odd birth, perhaps they're announcing a brand new artist. Our guess is as good as yours at this point.

I'd just like to say that in addition to the compelling mystery surrounding these videos, the music in all four of these clips suggests that they're attached to some outstandingly brilliant full-length songs. Count me in. I'm following this shit.

"Jersey Shore" gifs

This is not a tribute to Jersey Shore. The show gets its dick sucked enough as it is.

However, these gif's are too outstanding to be ignored.

Staring at these gifs is about a million times more gratifying than watching the show itself. Their appeal is partially due to where they rest, peacefully inside of their own internet gif universe, one in which the stars of the show are correctly put in their place and don't need to feel as though the world loves them and wants to pay them more money in one night than I make in 2 months to make appearances at shitty random bars....

And so without further delay, here is the Taste My Kids tribute to "Jersey Shore gif's".. As of February 2010, these are among the internet's finest gif's. Eat em up..................
